Curious What It Would Be Like to Work with a Personal Style Coach?

Working with a Personal Stylist is one of those things that many times gets filed into women's brains that it is only for the rich and famous.  When many people think of a Stylist, they think of the Red Carpet and the Awards Shows when the stars and starlets are getting dressed to-the-nines and posing for photographers.

The exciting truth is that Personal Stylists are not only reserved for millionaires.  Woot Woot!  So, most everyday women are not getting glammed up and walking Red Carpets, so is a Stylist only for women who have special events coming up?  Again, the answer is NO!

At this point, you may be thinking, "Alright, Michelle, just give it to me.  How can a normal, non-famous, non-millionaire person work with a Personal Stylist?"

The options that are available can vary depending on who you choose to work with as a Personal Stylist and what he or she offers.  For the purposes of this post, I'm going to share the ways in which I help my Clients turn their closets into a happy place that brings no stress, speaks uniquely to her, and makes it easy to get dressed every day for whatever life throws at you.

Some women need just a "Style Quick Service", some may need help being styled for a photo shoot, some may desire a longer term service.

Here are some of the services that I offer inside of my Personal Style Coaching packages. Not all services are offered in every package.  This is an overview of the different service offerings:

Style Synchrony Framework. This part of the process is very important whether you are scheduling a Single Service Session or a longer term package.  Together, we will go through my 3 part process to determine your true-to-you style.  We will complete a Lifestyle Analysis, Body Type Analysis, and Style Personality Assessment.

I work with my Clients to create a vision of their style and what does look like and feel like to help them build confidence in their style.

Many Clients need a single service which could include something like Special Event styling for a Wedding or big Celebration.  Some Clients have a vacation or a business trip approaching and need styling for that.

I can help my Clients by shopping for them.  This is great for women who get stressed out by shopping or who don't have the time to shop.  For my Clients who have a longer-term package, this can include shopping over-time so that they are consistently adding new styles, in their style, to their closet.

I create Look Books for my Clients.  What is a Look Book you may wonder?  For women who have troubles putting together outfits and/or don't have the time to think about putting together outfits, this is a slam dunk service!  As your Stylist, I will create digitized looks from pieces you already own and from pieces that we may have recently purchased for you.  Inside of some packages, you get new monthly looks added and if you have a trip come up for business or play, I can create a set number of looks for that as well.

If your closet is a mess, some of my packages include help getting them right into shape!  I guide you in how to edit your closet, provide organization suggestions, and can use my Stylist eye to help you with those pieces you aren't quite sure if they fit your new style or not.  As part of this process, I will perform a Wardrobe Evaluation so that we can see where you have gaps in your wardrobe and holes that need filling.

If you have always dreamed of knowing your ideal color palette that lights you up from the outside-in, one of my longer term packages offers Color Analysis.  Color is an extremely powerful tool not only for communication, but also for the impact on how different colors look on you.  If you have ever put on a piece of clothing and felt like it drained the color from your face, or alternatively, you put on a color and get compliments left and right about how young you look or how you look so refreshed, THAT is the power of color!

Does having a Stylist on-hand to answer style questions as they come up sound like it could be helpful?  My longer term packages come with this and Clients find it so helpful as they are getting dressed or out shopping or packing for a trip to have their Stylist's advice right at their fingertips!

We hire experts to handle many things:  Accountants that handle our taxes, Financial Planners that take care of our finances, Personal Trainers to help keep us in shape, Housecleaners to clean our homes, Landscape companies to take care of our yards, Hair Stylists to cut and color our hair...hiring a Personal Stylist is just another tool in your toolbelt that allows for you to focus on your own gifts and to spend time on the things you enjoy doing!

The bottom line is that if you are ready to take your style and your vibe to the next level, if you are tired of feeling like you don't know how to dress your body because your body is changing or your lifestyle is evolving, hiring a Stylist is going to be a great investment!  The confidence and joy you feel, the career boost you have been looking for can happen through the power of style.  It's not just for the rich and famous.

I am accepting limited Clients each month so that I can give the appropriate time and attention to each Client.  If you are interested in learning more, visit my website and schedule a consultation call.  I would be honored to help you find your true style!

Stylishly Yours,

Why Style is Important: The High Cost of Not Caring

Close your eyes. Transport yourself to a moment in time when you felt absolutely beautiful. Maybe it was yesterday. Maybe it was when you were heading to an special event. Maybe it was when you were going on your first date. Maybe it was your wedding day. When you close your eyes, think about these things: How did you look? How did you feel? What were you wearing? What was the fabric like? How did the clothes fit your body? What did your hair look like? What did your makeup look like? Were you smiling at yourself in the mirror? How long did it take you to get ready that day? Did you take pictures of yourself? What thoughts did you have when you saw yourself in the mirror? When you open your eyes, I want you to think about the last time you felt that amazing? That powerful? That beautiful?  When's the last time you cared like that? When's the last time you allowed yourself to take that long to get ready? As I shared in last week's blog ( https://stylesynchrony.blogspot.com/...

How to look stylish in your 40s (and beyond)

You're here! Congratulations because that is Step 1: Caring enough to want to make a change. Here's the thing, nothing changes if nothing changes. The biggest roadblock is if you aren't fed up ENOUGH with how you are feeling about your style (and likely yourself), you will never make a change. That's not you though, my friend, because you found this blog and opened it!  Step one is complete. Let's celebrate that! via GIPHY Here's what you already know. Style in your 40s and beyond (we will call this "midlife" going forward) is...different.  👉Our bodies are changing. Things don't sit where they used to. 👉Our priorities have changed. Most of the time, we aren't out all night at the bars. 👉Our lives have a new focus, oftentimes around our family. 👉Fashion and clothing is not typically geared toward women our age. It's commonplace for women who are in midlife to feel like they are lacking style or being left-behind, but that doesn't hav...

The Importance of a Conscious Closet (and what is it?!)

Many times as consumers, we look at our shopping habits when it comes to clothing in terms of how much we are spending, where we are spending our money and the comfort and wearability of our clothes.   These things are all relevant.   However, one area that is becoming increasingly important to consider for value-driven shoppers and for those who are concerned about the environment is the true impacts that our clothing purchases have on the future of Earth and the lives of humans living on it right now. Today is the first of a 2-part blog series about Fast Fashion versus Sustainable Fashion.  Whether you care about the environment or not, I heartily believe it is important for all of us to take a look at our decisions as consumers and understand these topics so we can make our decisions coming from a place of knowledge.  The decisions we make today will impact not just our own lives, but the lives of our children and grandchildren and cannot be ignored. Clothes cou...
