Why Style is Important: The High Cost of Not Caring

Close your eyes. Transport yourself to a moment in time when you felt absolutely beautiful. Maybe it was yesterday. Maybe it was when you were heading to an special event. Maybe it was when you were going on your first date. Maybe it was your wedding day. When you close your eyes, think about these things: How did you look? How did you feel? What were you wearing? What was the fabric like? How did the clothes fit your body? What did your hair look like? What did your makeup look like? Were you smiling at yourself in the mirror? How long did it take you to get ready that day? Did you take pictures of yourself? What thoughts did you have when you saw yourself in the mirror? When you open your eyes, I want you to think about the last time you felt that amazing? That powerful? That beautiful?  When's the last time you cared like that? When's the last time you allowed yourself to take that long to get ready? As I shared in last week's blog ( https://stylesynchrony.blogspot.com/...

Invest in YOU: It's Time to Show Up for Yourself

We live in an increasingly busy world.  It's a BIT subjective based upon what cycle of life you are living (with young kids, older kids, empty nester), but in a post-pandemic world things have really picked up in terms of what is on our list of "to do's". As women, specifically, what tends to happen in all of this busy-ness is that we put ourselves LAST.  By nature, women are nurturers.  We nurture and make sure our family and friends are taken care of and most of the time, that leaves no time, energy, or monetary investment for ourselves.  However,  doing such compassionate acts for others leaves you vulnerable to depression, illness, and a lower self-worth.  In the end, when you don't take care of yourself, you are at risk of putting yourself into a situation where you can take care of and help absolutely no one! Put on your own oxygen mask first before helping others Truth!  If you have ever been on an airplane, you have heard them say this du...

Showing Up for Yourself and Why it's So Critical

We have found ourselves in an ever-casual world post-pandemic.  As a Style Coach, I hear it all the time:  "I'm not going into the office, so I just don't need nice clothes.", or "I have littles, so I just don't get dressed up.", and the hardest one to hear is "I'm in the process of losing weight and I don't want to spend money on clothes until I've reached my goal." And, to be very honest, these statements and any like it make me sad.  Why?  Is it because it impacts my business?  Sure.  I'm an honest person so saying anything other than that would not be authentic. But more than ANYTHING, it's because of what these women are saying TO THEMSELVES about themselves.   Let me back up for just a quick minute. Before I dive into self-image, let's talk about external image. Did you know that a first impression is made within the first 7 seconds of someone seeing you?  7 seconds!  And did you know that once that first impressio...
