Is it Time to Work with a Personal Stylist?

I know you have thought it:

"How nice would it be to be a celebrity and have someone else style you?"

What many women don't understand is that this is a service that is also available to them, too. If you are ready and motivated to make a change to your style, that is what women like myself do!

So, what IS a Personal Stylist? What does one do?

A Personal Stylist is trained professional who helps individuals develop and refine their personal style. Depending on the Personal Stylist, here are some of the services they may offer:
  • Style Development: Personal Style is PERSONAL and needs to reflect the individual. Here is where the stylist gets to know you, your life, your vision, your goals, and then dives into your body shape, your personality when it comes to your style, and even your personal color patterns.
  • Closet Edit: Once your personal style has been curated, we head into your closet and get rid of things that no longer fit, are dated (no longer in style), overly worn, and just don't fit the vision for your style.
  • Wardrobe Evaluation: We take a look at what you have in your closet and where there may be gaps that need to be filled to have a well-rounded wardrobe that works for everything that we determined in your Style Development process.
  • Shopping: Once we have determined the gaps, it's time to grab some new pieces that will update your style and work well in creating a wardrobe that works seamlessly together. This isn't about adding endless pieces to your closet, but more about adding quality items that work well holistically with what you own.
  • Outfit Curation: Style gets fun and easy here. This is where your Stylist will put together fully styled, beautifully curated looks that make it a snap to get dressed in the morning. You will know exactly what pieces to wear, what accessories to add, what shoes to put on, and how to style the entire look. Mornings just got a lot more fun and definitely more easy.
  • Image Consulting: Depending on the Stylist, they may recommend hair, makeup, and overall confidence-boosting grooming recommendations as well.
  • Ongoing Style Support: Most Personal Stylists offer ongoing support packages through either seasonal closet and shopping, monthly outfit curation, monthly shopping options, and even travel packing lists and assistance!
  • Additional Options: Many Personal Stylists also offer packages to help with Special Event Styling, Photo Shoot Styling, VIP Days, etc.

Let's Talk about Benefits!

When you hire a Personal Stylist to be part of your Team, here is what you can expect:
  • Personalized Style Advice: A Personal Stylist knows the questions to ask and how to make a style that works for YOU. There is nothing cookie-cutter about working with a stylist. No two women will look the same. From the styles you love, the colors that flatter you, your unique body shape, the patterns and prints that you love, your height, fabric preference...all of this is customized to you.
  • Saves You Time: Not only do you save time shopping, but you save a TON of time each morning getting dressed. There's no longer question about whether a certain style works for you or whether this outfit looks good or not. You have at-the-ready looks to rock day in and day out!
  • Saves You Money: This is an investment in yourself. While you may feel like a Personal Stylist is too expensive, in the long run, you will save money. You will learn exactly what works and what doesn't for YOU, you will know what you should wear and what you should steer away from, and you will be knowledgeable about what's current, what is trendy and will not last the test of time and all of these things will stop the endless shopping scroll online!
  • Expert Guidance: Your Personal Stylist will inform you about everything from the way a garment should fit, how you should style your clothing, what fabrics work best for you, how to make the best use of your clothing by getting pieces tailored (and what to request when at the tailor), and even help you figure out how to shop online like a pro.
  • A Confidence Boost: When your style is on-point and you know you look amazing, you feel amazing too. You get an extra pep in your step, you are ready to be seen and heard. You will turn heads when you walk by (in the best way) and that will make you throw your shoulders back with pride. You absolutely cannot put a price on this!
  • Bring Joy Back to your Day: Instead of beginning your days feeling stressed, uncomfortable, and on edge from the struggle of getting dressed and feeling relevant, you will find ease in your closet. You will step inside your closet full-on knowing that you will be putting on an outfit that will make you look like a BOSS and you won't waste time trying to search for the perfect pieces that go together.

How do I know if working with a Personal Stylist is the right move?

If you are:
👉 Feeling stuck in your style
👉 Struggling with how to dress a changing body
👉 Frustrated by shopping and your closet every time you step into it
👉 Sick of buying things that you never wear
👉 Questioning if your style is dated
👉 Ready to step into the best version of yourself
👉 Feel it's beyond time for a style that feels amazing, feels like you, and works for your life
👉 Are ready to stop wasting money and start making smart clothing choices
👉 Ready to feel confident and stylish once more

...then working with a Personal Stylist is the way to go.

How do I choose a Personal Stylist to work with?

There are a few things to consider:
  1. First you must decide what level of help or assistance you would ideally want. Do you want just a closet cleanout or a Style Development? I NEVER recommend only a shop because without getting in and doing the work, your Stylist will not understand your style and you may be duplicating things you already own in your closet based upon what you "like".
  2. You will be working very closely with this person. I recommend following them on their Social Media channels. You can learn a lot about a Personal Stylist when they share in their social. You will get a feeling about whether you will vibe or not.
  3. Review the Stylist's website and what packages or services they offer. Does it fit with what you are looking for? Does the Stylist offer payment options for higher priced packages?
  4. Do you want to work with someone in-person or are you willing to work with someone virtually? When selecting a Personal Stylist, inquire or check their website about your options.
  5. If you can tell based on reviews and your experience with them and online presence, go ahead and get on her calendar! Personal Stylists schedule on a first-come, first-served basis, so the sooner you get on their calendar, the better. If you are unsure, schedule a quick Style Discovery call. This is NOT a place to ask style questions, but rather a quick call to talk about what you are looking for and which package or service will work best to get you the results that you desire.
While working with a Personal Stylist should be considered and investment in yourself, it's important to remember this:

How you feel about yourself is more than worth the investment you will make in developing a style that will last you for years and the personal power that it will ignite in you to go further than you have gone and do things you have never done.

I'm here to help if you need me, both in-person and virtually. You can check out my service offerings here and follow me on Instagram here.

Stylishly Yours,

Empowering One Another To Be Our Best Selves

You can never get yesterday back.  Do you ever find yourself wishing you had done something differently and getting stuck in that hamster-wheel of regretful thoughts? Or even worse, how often have you had a friend share a huge win that they had with you and externally, you told them how proud you were of them and how amazing it was for them to have had this success only to leave the conversation feeling LACK? We all get one life, just one.  We can't go back in time and take something we said back.  We can't go back and change how we did something yesterday, BUT we can use what we learned from it to step into TODAY with a better intention and by growing and learning from our past actions and feelings. Friend!  We have ONE LIFE .  Don't you want to live it in joy, with people you love, doing the things you love, and aspiring to be the best you that you can be?  How amazing to know that as you set your head down on your pillow at the end of the day, you did yo...

The Importance of a Conscious Closet (and what is it?!)

Many times as consumers, we look at our shopping habits when it comes to clothing in terms of how much we are spending, where we are spending our money and the comfort and wearability of our clothes.   These things are all relevant.   However, one area that is becoming increasingly important to consider for value-driven shoppers and for those who are concerned about the environment is the true impacts that our clothing purchases have on the future of Earth and the lives of humans living on it right now. Today is the first of a 2-part blog series about Fast Fashion versus Sustainable Fashion.  Whether you care about the environment or not, I heartily believe it is important for all of us to take a look at our decisions as consumers and understand these topics so we can make our decisions coming from a place of knowledge.  The decisions we make today will impact not just our own lives, but the lives of our children and grandchildren and cannot be ignored. Clothes cou...

Ready to Wear is NOT Ready to Wear!

I recently attended two formal events.  I LOVE dressing up and getting "fancy".  It seems to be a bit of a lost art these days. Dressing up makes you feel beautiful and what that does for your confidence is immeasurable. As I shared photos of my dress and received many compliments on my dresses, it occurred to me that NO ONE understands that the dress I wore was different than the dress I ordered.  As a Stylist, I feel like an awareness must be brought to this topic. You see, when I ordered the two dresses, I looked at the size charts (as everyone SHOULD do when shopping online), but guess what?!  The sizes were not perfect for my measurements!  Here is a truth:  READY TO WEAR IS NOT READY TO WEAR! Our bodies are all unique.  The way a size 10 fits one person will not fit her friend in a size 10 in the same way EVEN IF they are both a size 10!  Our bodies are unique in that we all are different heights, we have different body types, different prop...
